In recent weeks, I have heard this many times: “the Mac market is hot and customers are wiling to pay more”. Targus is the latest company to bolster their Mac offering with new and higher quality products. This new line up is designed to be agreeable to the eye. The color has been chosen to go well with the White, Aluminum or Black Macbooks. The following products are part of “Targus for Mac”: Bluetooth wireless laser mouse and RF wireless laser mouse: both have a new sensor that replaces the mechanical scroll ball found on the Apple Mighty Mouse. Presentation remote: Good design and quick switch from presenter to mouse mode. USB HUB: Ultra-clean design with no apparent cable when not in use. Laptop chill mat: Dual fans positioned optimally for the Macbooks File share cable: Plus and Play file sharing between Mac and PC – there’s no installation required. Everything is in the key and self-installs Privacy Screen: It looks like 3M doesn’t have the monopoly on privacy screens anymore. It prevents others from looking at your display from the side. Available for 13.3”, 15” or 17”. They come in eco-friendly packages (recycled materials, and less of it) – we will get back to some of these products with more details later on. Puzzle Quest is one sleeper hit on my DS that I absolutely love, bringing together the elements of RPG as well as a puzzle game. This time round, Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords has made its way to the iPhone and iPod touch platforms, featuring more than 150 quests that allow you to upgrade yourself, pick up new weapons and spells throughout the duration of the game. This will be the fourth platform offering the title after appearing on the DS, PSP and Wii. No idea on how much it will cost, but you can look forward to this title on the iTunes App Store later this fall. Toshiba paraded a prototype of its new and fast-charging SCiB battery that targets laptops to great success, but the technology isn't exactly available soon for its target market due to some complications. SCiB is short for Super Charge Ion Batteries, and are capable of recharging to 90% capacity within 10 minutes, and also outlasts standard lithium-ion batteries when it comes to recharge cycles. In addition, SCiBs are much safer since it doesn't explode when crushed, thanks to the material within that helps maintain a higher level of thermal stability. Hurry up Toshiba, and bring SCiB technology to the mass market already. Wouldn't you love to have a battery that can endure up to 6,000 recharge cycles instead of just 500 cycles that current batteries have?
