Nokia 5800 : The SmartPhone With A Difference Now
Nokia 5800 is a high-end smartphone from Nokia which was launched recently. The phone which is also considered among the IPhone Killer has a sound multimedia capability and even has beat the luxurious and famous IPhone 3G with its sensational features. Nokia 5800 XpressMusic edition has extra ordinary music and video capabilities with a quality display and sound. Besides it has all the features present in IPhone like Wi-Fi, WLAN, GPS with Maps etc. and other features like Bluetooth, FM Radio, some innovative applications and sensors that the Iphone is missing. The camera present in 5800 is much better also than its market rival and the mobile comes unlocked – so you don’t need to pay double call charges like people did in Iphone 3G which came with AT&T.
Being codenamed Tube the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic edition is based on series 60 5th edition platform and runs with Symbian OS. The phone costs about $350 in USA and has 3G support, while the price in Asia is about $415.
As the name signifies, being an XpressMusic edition phone, 5800 plays music and videos with extra ordinary quality. So being highly multimedia capable it is thought to be another Protable Media Player plus Phone. The multi touch screen of 5800 is of 3.2” and the quality display which is of 360 x 640 px resolution (Aspect Ratio – 9:16) supports 16 M colours (24 bit). The quality display with touch screen is the other feature that has made it a true Iphone killer because the quality of videos and images are matches that of its rival. A number of video file formats like FLV, 3GP. MPEG4, Real media, WMV etc and several audio/music files belonging to Mp3, AAC, WAV, AMR, MIDI and RM formats can be played in the mobile using the default Music Player application which is provided. You can have video ring tones, make video calls and also video and photo editors can come handy.
The supported formats for image files are JPEG/GIF/PNG/Bitmap. You can have either 8GB or 16GB of storage using MicroSD memory card of desired size. Then on you can store all your favourite videos, music, pics and even movies in a fly. Just use the data cable and USB port to connect with any PC/Notebook/Mac and sync i.e. exchange media files and other stuffs like contacts b/w mobile and PC. The stereo sound quality and speakers have been improved a lot from previous Nokia phones. The stereo FM radio and a 3.5 mm head phone jack have been provided. A multitude of applications like the Nokia Maps and several games are prebuilt into the Nokia 5800 and the apps are useful ones.
Like the Maps are quite helpful while travelling. Since the mobile runs Series 60 platform – Symbian OS, you can download and install any of your choice games and software into the 5800, because a lot of them are available in Internet for Symbian OS. Now let’s discuss the last but not the least feature of Nokia 5800 – Ya it’s the excellent camera we mentioned before in this article. The 3.2 mpxl. Camera comes with flash and sports the technically best Carl Zeiss lenses. The self timer system and flash makes it far better. Videos can be captured at 640 X 480 resolutions (Max. Frame rate – 30 Fps)
